What is PVC/PVDC?

PVC/PVDC composite film (also known as PVC/PVDC pharmaceutical rigid sheet) is a high-barrier laminated material widely used in blister packaging. It consists of two main layers:

PVC layer: Provides rigidity, thermoformability, transparency, and structural support.

PVDC coating layer: Delivers outstanding oxygen and moisture barrier performance.

This combination makes it the most cost-effective high-barrier solution for pharmaceutical, suppository, oral liquid, and cosmetic packaging.

Key Advantages

1.Excellent Barrier Performance

PVDC significantly improves oxygen and water vapor resistance compared to ordinary PVC.It effectively prevents drugs from moisture absorption, oxidation, softening, and deterioration.

2.Outstanding Thermoformability

Easy to heat-form into various blister shapes.Suitable for deep-drawn cavities for suppositories, oral liquid bottles, and special-shaped packages.

3.High Transparency & Gloss

Clear visibility of contents, easy for quality inspection and consumer recognition.

4.Strong & Stable Sealing

Excellent heat-sealing performance with aluminum foil lidding, ensuring airtight and leakproof packaging.

5.Safe & Pharmacopoeia Compliant

Non-toxic, odorless, chemically stable, and meets pharmaceutical packaging standards.

6.High Cost Performance

Lower cost than cold-form aluminum foil, while providing sufficient barrier for most pharmaceuticals.

7.Good Printability

Suitable for printing logos, batch numbers, expiry dates, and product information.
