Tianheng Nanobelt Let's Meet PA Engineering Plastics

- Jun 01, 2021-

PA commonly known as nylon, commonly used models are PA6, PA66, PA12, etc., is one of the common engineering plastics. Today, Tangsu technology takes you to know PA engineering plastics.

1. Advantages of PA

(1) Good strength and impact resistance.

(2) The thermal and mechanical properties are good.

(3) Wear resistant and self-lubricating.

(4) Slow burning and self extinguishing.

(5) Glass fiber and carbon fiber can be added to improve the performance.

2. Disadvantages of PA

(1) Nylon has high hygroscopicity.

(2) Long term use, dimensional accuracy has changed.

3. PA density

The density of PA is 1.12 ~ 1.16g/cm3

4. Surface treatment of PA

The surface treatment of PA is very little.

5. Link mode

The link mode is divided into buckle, screw, hot melt, ultrasonic and so on.

6. Scope of application

Commonly used for bearings, plastic gears, gaskets, automotive industry, instrument shell, etc.

7. Common shrinkage rate of mould

The common shrinkage rate of the mould is 1.5% (the shrinkage rate changes after adding glass fiber and carbon fiber).

8. PA6 injection molding process conditions

(1) Drying treatment: as PA6 is easy to absorb moisture, special attention should be paid to the drying before processing.

(2) Melting temperature: 230 ~ 280 ℃, for reinforced plastics, the melting temperature is 250 ~ 280 ℃.

(3) Mold temperature: 80 ~ 90 ℃.

(4) Injection pressure: 750 ~ 1250bar (depending on material and product design).

(5) Injection speed: high speed (slightly lower for reinforced materials).
